Homework #12
What is it? This is a magazine cover.
Function: Publication
Where I saw it: I found this magazine at my local library.
Quality: This design is very asymmetrical. The contrasts of the blues create an eye-catching image. The font is handwritten and varies in size. All of the main aspects are contained in the wave.
Design/Typography: Contemporary.
What attracted me to this piece? The pop of blues on the white background and the very clear water attracted me.

Homework #10
What is it? These are both posters.
Function: Promotion. To advertise a restaurant (left) and to provoke your mind.
Where I saw it: I saw these images online.
Quality: The left has very "yellowed" colors. It puts the women as the main element, advertising the drink as well. There is a lot of little designs as well, like the flowers on the edge. There isn't much negative space. The right image has a lot of vibrant colors and flowy forms. There is negative space. Also, the typography is thick and contorted.
Design/Typography: Left, art nouveau and right psychedelia.
What attracted me to this piece? Since we discussed calling psychedelia the "art nouveau revival" I thought it would be cool to compare each style.
